Exercise Tips
- TRAIN the movement NOT the muscle. It's the nervous system that drives and controls our muscles.
- FOCUS on health and function - as determined by your needs - instead of focusing on aesthetics
- EXERCISE the body as a whole through our "anatomy trains" which connect every muscle to each other
- CORRECT all muscle imbalances prior to traditional weight lifting - especially with the hip and posture
- TRAIN from the inside out - all movements/exercises originate from the core
- WORKOUTS should integrate the 6 evolutionary movement patterns - Lunge, Squat, Bend, Push, Pull and Twist
- PROMOTE stability/balance by always maintaining your own centre of gravity over your own base of support
- NEVER/RARELY use machines with a fixed axis of rotation (e.g. leg extension machine)
- USE a variety a exercise modalities (e.g. weight lifting, yoga, tai-chi) to create a body of wellness
- NEVER TRAIN INTO PAIN!! This is your body's way of telling to you back off and rest.
